Accessibility Statement
Last updated 4 June 2026
We want everyone to be able to explore Villa Laura with ease, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We treat accessibility as part of the craft of the site, not an afterthought, and we work to keep it that way.
Our commitment
We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, and to meeting the recognised international standard for digital accessibility, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive differences.
Conformance status
This website aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Conformance means that the site meets the guidelines' success criteria. We assess these pages as substantially conformant: the great majority of the site meets the standard, and we are addressing any remaining items as part of our ongoing work.
Measures we take
- Structured content. Semantic HTML with a single main heading per page and a logical heading order, so assistive technology can navigate by structure.
- Keyboard access. A “Skip to content” link, full keyboard operability, and a visible focus outline on every interactive element.
- Text alternatives. Descriptive alternative text on photographs, and empty alternative text on purely decorative imagery so it is passed over.
- Contrast. Colour combinations chosen for sufficient contrast between text and its background.
- Reflow and zoom. A responsive layout that adapts to any screen size and supports zoom without loss of content.
- Reduced motion. Respect for the system “reduce motion” setting, which calms or removes non-essential animation.
- Forms and dialogs. Form fields with clear labels, and menus and dialogs with appropriate ARIA roles and states.
- Plain language. Clear wording, offered in both English and Spanish, with the page language declared for assistive technology.
Compatibility
This site is designed to work with current versions of the major browsers, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, and with the screen readers built into modern operating systems. It is not designed for browsers that are no longer supported by their makers.
Technical specifications
Accessibility relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA. Where JavaScript enhances the experience, the core content and navigation remain available without it.
Known limitations
A few short films are delivered by a third-party video service. We present them muted and without autoplay sound, and we never convey essential information by video alone. If any moving content is unclear, please contact us and we will provide the same information in another form.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is not a one-time task. We review new pages and content as they are added, and we welcome reports that help us find and fix anything we have missed.
Feedback and help
We welcome your feedback. If you meet a barrier, need information in a different format, or would simply like help using the site, please write to enquiries villalauracabo.com. Tell us the page and what you experienced, and we will reply within five working days and do our best to put it right.
Enforcement and standards
This statement is made in good faith and in the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the EN 301 549 standard, aligned with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. If we are unable to resolve a concern to your satisfaction, you keep any rights available to you under the law that applies to you.
